UX/UI Process
Discovery & Requirements Gathering
Although MonmedX had already been launched, we needed to understand the current pain points and potential improvements. Our first step involved analyzing user feedback, which highlighted usability issues when scaling the platform for different clinics. This was crucial for identifying features to prioritize in the next iterations.
I worked closely with the CTO, who helped distill the user stories based on meetings with the client. These stories provided the framework for our improvements, ensuring that the design updates aligned with both user and business needs.
Defining the Design System & Scalability
One of the challenges of scaling the platform was ensuring that all updates adhered to the pre-existing design system. I maintained consistency with the UI elements, colors, fonts, and components already in place, ensuring that the visual identity remained intact despite the system's growth.
Given the variety of clinics joining the platform, it was essential to design flexible, scalable solutions. This involved creating UI components that could be easily adapted to different clinic specialties while preserving a unified look and feel.
UI Design and Prototyping
With the core design system established, I focused on refining the UI. I designed several high-fidelity prototypes for new features, including improved navigation, clinic management tools, and patient interaction interfaces. These updates aimed to enhance the user experience, making it easier for clinic staff to manage operations and for patients to interact with the system.
I created wireframes and prototypes for key screens such as the clinic dashboard, appointment scheduling, and patient profiles. These updates needed to be intuitive and visually consistent, ensuring that both clinic administrators and patients could navigate the system with ease.

User Testing & Feedback
Once the prototypes were ready, I conducted internal user testing with stakeholders to gather feedback on the new UI designs. We focused on specific tasks, such as scheduling appointments, navigating the clinic dashboard, and updating patient records.
Feedback from the client was incorporated to refine features and ensure alignment with user needs. The usability tests helped identify areas where the interface could be simplified or optimized, such as improving the readability of clinic-specific data and streamlining patient record updates.
Collaboration & Iteration
As part of an agile team, I worked closely with developers, ensuring that all design updates were implemented as planned. I also used Jira to track tasks, report progress, and ensure that the development team had the necessary user stories to implement each feature.
During stand-up meetings with the CTO, I provided updates on the design progress and received feedback on the client’s requirements. This constant feedback loop helped us stay aligned with the project’s goals and made the development process more efficient.
Final Implementation & Handoff
After refining the design and ensuring that all features were integrated into the platform, I delivered the final UI assets to the development team. I also ensured that all components were documented in the design system for future scalability.
The improved MonmedX platform was successfully launched to multiple clinics, providing an efficient, user-friendly solution that catered to a wider range of healthcare providers.
